Get your paper money ready for Sunday! Rumors are that there will be up to 5 inserts this weekend! Holy moly! My hands are gonna fall off from all of the cutting! I hope Walgreens is still running the $0.99 Tennessean Sunday papers!

Weekend Shopping

I finally got to go shopping for the week. When I went to Publix last week, that was really all I needed to buy to tide us over then. This weekend was a different story. We drank all our Cokes, which around here is a national emergency. I just couldn't pass up the great deals at Publix this week! I bought so much stuff at Publix and Kroger that I forgot to photo them all. I also found a new coupon sheet at Publix for $0.55/1 Glad storage item! I may finally get enough courage to do the "charcoal deal" that everyone and their mother seems to be doing! (I'm afraid of the dirty looks frankly)

I spent $18.09 at Publix and got over $50 worth of product. I spent $60.87 at Kroger and saved $52.83. The cashier at Kroger was so cool. I did the Keebler cookie deal where you get a 24 pack of Kroger water when you buy 3 participating items. I purchased the Keebler Rainbow Chips Deluxe cookies, but my water didn't ring up for free. My cashier asked one of the other cashiers what to do, and they told her that the MANAGER said to only allow free water on items pictured on the display. I thought WHATEVER! I told her that I don't shop by displays but by the ads and whipped out my ad to show that I purchased 3 of the pictured items. My cashier said that she didn't care what the manager said and gave me my $3 back for the water. What a cool gal!

I went over my $50 budget I stay within, but since I only spent $7.41 last week, I will call this a wash.

With all of the food I bought today, we shouldn't need anything for awhile. Then again, I would like to go back and get some of the items that were out of stock! LOL

Getting ready for my fave day of the week...

Okay. I am definitely a dork! I LOVE Sundays!

First, and foremost, that is the day when I get a fresh set of coupons! I also do most of my shopping on Sundays bright and early while the stores are semi-quiet. Sunday is also the day I find out which item at Publix is the "penny item" for Sunday and Monday! For those of you who don't know what the penny item is, each week Publix chooses a house brand item that is eligible for purchase when you spend $10 or more (before coupons). Some stores are requiring that you have the little "penny item" coupon from their Sunday insert to receive the special, but some don't. Also, you can only redeem one penny item per purchase.

Ok, now that I have "bunny trailed", my final reason to love Sunday is that after the madness of the morning has ended, I get to spend it with my favorite people in the world, hubby G and daughter H.

Hello and welcome to my cheap world!

This is my first post on Tennessee Tightwad, and I want to take the time to introduce myself.

Hello, my name is Stacey, and I am a coupon addict. Yes, I am one of THOSE people. I love to shop and get a bargain at the same time, so this is the perfect addiction.

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle my shopping trips and share all the great deals that are available to us out there. I will highlight the stores that are available in my area, Murfreesboro, TN, such as Kroger, Publix, CVS, Walgreens, and any other store that may come along.

I invite you to jump on board with me on the savings express and learn to shop for more with less!
